Hike Description:
VP hikers,This Sunday Bruce Moore is leading you up to Window Rock, in the Corner Canyon area above Draper. There will be some light bush whacking for 1 mile and possible mudd/snow on the trail. You don't need snowshoes, but do bring spikes if you have them (but not necessary). We will resume snowshoeing when conditions improve.
WEATHER ISSUES: Weather should be ok and we might even get above the inversion.
DOGS: Sorry, NO Dogs allowed.
LENGTH: About 7 miles
DIFFICULTY: Moderate. Trail becomes steeper when we start our light bush whacking.
ELEVATION GAIN: About 1,500 feet
LUNCH VIEW FROM WINDOW ROCK: Don't forget to bring your lunch and plenty of water.
MEETING TIME: We will leave the parking lot at 9:30 AM (7200 South meeting area). Come 15 minutes early to socialize.
1st MEETING PLACE: Meeting at 7200 South and I-15 freeway at 9:30 AM. If you are heading south on I-15, take the 7200 South Exit. At the light turn left (east), make a quick right onto the Frontage Road. The Frontage Road is between 1-15 and McDonald's. From 7200 South, we get on I-15, drive south and meet up with the rest at Billard Equestrian Center in Draper. If you want to join me for breakfast at this meeting place, be at McDonald's at 9:00 AM, which is across the street from the parking lot.
2nd MEETING PLACE: If you live in the Draper area, meet Bruce at Ballard Equestrian Park at 9:50 AM. Located off Highland Drive and about 13800 South. We will start our hike from there at 10:00 AM.
DRIVERS: We always need drivers for carpooling. Please offer to be one.
See you on the trail,
Steve
