Hike Description:

VP hikers,

This Sunday we are hiking to Mount Aire, in Millcreek Canyon. This is the trail hikers have reported a moose chasing them. Lets hope we see him from a distance. We could encounter mud on the trail, so bring a extra pair of shoes to keep the cars clean. We will have a longer lunch, as this hike is shorter then most. Read the attached "Hike of the Week" that I wrote about this trail.

DOGS: Are welcome, but you will need to drive your hairy friend to the trailhead. Please bring a leash as I'm not sure if its a on or off lease day.

WEATHER ISSUES: If we need to cancel the hike due to weather, I will send out an email by 8:30 AM Sunday morning. So check your email before you go.

DIFFICULTY: Moderate

ELEVATION GAIN: 1,960 feet

ROUND TRIP MILES: About 4 miles

LUNCH ON THE PEAK: Don't forget to bring a lunch, sunscreen and water. Maybe someone will bake cookie, I keep hinting! LOL

MEETING and LEAVING AT 9:30 A.M. (come 15 minutes early to socialize)

We are meeting at REI on 3300 South. Meet us on the westside of REI in the shopping center. Just look for my blue truck and folks standing around looking like hikers! LOL

DAY FEE AREA: There is a $3 fee per car, so bring your cards with you.

DRIVERS: If we have a large number of hikers, please consider being one of the drivers. From the parking lot, we will carpool. Please help your drive with the gas expense.
