Hike Description:

VP hikers,

This Sunday we are hiking to Big Mountain, up East Canyon. The trail could be muddy and you might consider bring an extra pair of shoes or plastic bags to cover muddy boots in the car. Read the attached PDF I wrote about the trail: "This week's Utah hiking adventure".

DOGS: Watershed area, so dogs are NOT allowed.

WEATHER ISSUES: If we need to cancel the hike due to weather, I will send out an email by 8:30 A.M. Sunday morning. So check your email before you go.

DIFFICULTY: Moderate

ELEVATION GAIN: 1,047 feet

ROUND TRIP MILES: 5.2 miles

LUNCH ON BIG MOUNTAIN: Don't forget to bring a lunch, sunscreen and water.

MEETING and LEAVING AT 9:30 A.M. (come 15 minutes early to socialize)

We are meeting at REI on 3300 South. Meet us on the westside of REI in the shopping center. Just look for my blue truck and people standing around looking like hikers! LOL

MEETING PLACE II: You can meet us at the trailhead on Big Mountain Pass. Read the driving directions on the attached PDF. The group should arrive at the trailhead just before 10 A.M. Please call one of us Sunday morning if this is your plan.

DRIVERS: If we have a large number of hikers, please consider being one of the drivers. From the parking lot, we will carpool. Please help your drive with the gas expense.
