Trailhead Description: Trailhead to climb White Mountain Peak (14,242 feet; 3rd highest in California. Directions: From Big Pine, take hwy 168 east, turn onto White Mountain road (paved up to Sherman grove, dirt afterwards). Park at closed gate.

Trailhead Name: Iron Mountain

Distance: 187 km

Trailhead Description: The trailhead is located at the intersection of Poway Rd (HWY S4) and 67. The trail begins after crossing the foot bridge next to the restrooms. The hike to the top of the mountain is about 6.5 miles round trip (out and back). The trail is well maintained, but moderately strenuous unless you are in good shape. About 1000 feet elevation gain. The trail has almost no shade at all, so advised in summer months, it gets HOT. There is a guest book at the summit, as well as a couple benches to have your lunch or just take a rest. No water available.

DOGS: Are allowed, but you will need to drive you and your hairy friend to the trailhead. There is no water on this trail for your dog.

ELEVATION GAIN: This is a pretty easy trail as it goes up and down.

Description: lets have some fun post lunch and explore the hot creek geothermal area and canyon. could possibly hike from the first driveway to the closed off hot springs area and back. Hike into canyon can be challenging! Better suited for kids 7+

Description: High Altitude. Easy to follow jeep road.

Kings Canyon NP - Mist Falls | Distance: 95.7 km

Description: Very popular trail. Great moderate hike. Raging river in early summer. Some great views. Proximity to river helps to keep you cool in usually hot and dry summer.

Description: Follow the nature trail around Zumwalt meadow.
