Trailhead Description: There is no fee at the trailhead, but you need to pay National Park Entrance fee. For day hike use day-use parking lots (there are few). Bears are active day and night, so don't leave food of items with strong smell (like Sunscreen or toothpaste in the car. Bear boxes are available at the trailhead.

Trailhead Name: Arroyo Seco - Gorge

Distance: 127.47 km

Trailhead Description: Take 101 south. Turn right on Arroyo Seco Road (about 1 mile south of Soledad). Continue on Arroyo Seco Road, at the Y take left ( the right is G16). Pay $7 fee at the entrance booth. Continue to the Gorge parking (past campground) . Bathrooms are available at the campground, not at the trailhead.

Distance: 172.39 km

Trailhead Description: Large parking lot, easy access to 20+ miles of trails. Rancho Canada del Oro is adjacent to Calero County park in San Jose. Large parking lot. But if you have a really large group, it is recommended to contact a ranger so they open overflow parking DIRECTIONS: From hwy 101: take Bernal road south, turn left onto Santa Teresa Blvd (go 2.9 mi), right onto Bailey ave ( go 2.3 mi), left onto McKean road (go 2.4 mi), right onto Casa Loma road, proceed about 2 miles to the Casa Loma staging area. Allow 20-25 minutes from the exit off the freeway. From Almaden Expwy: turn right on Harry, then left on McKean, right on Casa Loma. Proceed about 2 miles to the Casa Loma staging area. Trailhead Description: To get here, take Bernal road south (towards hills). Turn left down to the valley in the center of the park. Pay fee at the self-serve station on the small parking on the right side of the road and proceed down to the larger parking lot. Open 8AM - sunset.

Trailhead Description: This is one of the entrances to Santa Teresa County park. Small dirt parking lot. Access to Stile Ranch and Fortini trails. Directions: From San Jose, take Almaden expressway until it ends, turn right on Harry road, them left on McKean.Drive apprx 1.3 miles to Fortini road where turn left. At the T-junction turn left onto San Vicente, parking will be on the right side of the road

Description: Very popular trail. Great moderate hike. Raging river in early summer. Some great views. Proximity to river helps to keep you cool in usually hot and dry summer.

Description: Follow the nature trail around Zumwalt meadow.

Kings Canyon NP - Don Cecil trail to Lookout Peak | Distance: 90.6 km

Description: Strenuous climb on the north-facing side of the Kings Canyon

Yosemite NP This Weekend! | Distance: 136.3 km

Description: There are 2, with 2 different days and times: Chilnualna Falls Friday AM; A rather uphill, 4 mile one-way hike to outrageous flowing water not normally seen in Yosemite, plus fishing for true "gems"...gorgeous, natural Rainbow trout in pools above the Falls. All "jewels" experience CPR: Catch, Photograph, and Release. Come Saturday: One of the best, best views in all of the Yosemite Valley area, without having to ascend Half Dome: Sentinel Dome instead! It's a 1.5 mile, quite easy-to-moderate-at-the-end stroll/hike...sssshhhhh! Keep this one close to you...so much worth the bit of effort!
