Distance: 119.88 km

Trailhead Description: Large parking lot, easy access to 20+ miles of trails. Rancho Canada del Oro is adjacent to Calero County park in San Jose. Large parking lot. But if you have a really large group, it is recommended to contact a ranger so they open overflow parking DIRECTIONS: From hwy 101: take Bernal road south, turn left onto Santa Teresa Blvd (go 2.9 mi), right onto Bailey ave ( go 2.3 mi), left onto McKean road (go 2.4 mi), right onto Casa Loma road, proceed about 2 miles to the Casa Loma staging area. Allow 20-25 minutes from the exit off the freeway. From Almaden Expwy: turn right on Harry, then left on McKean, right on Casa Loma. Proceed about 2 miles to the Casa Loma staging area. At the T-junction turn left onto San Vicente, parking will be on the right side of the road

Hiking Routes Near Clovis

Route Name: White Mountain peak

Route Description: Non-technical climb to the top of White Mountain Peak. Start elev 11,600 feet, end elev (summit) 14,200 feet. Follow jeep road. 15 miles round trip (8-9 hours). Closed in winter. Get used to high altitude before attempting this hike. Great views from the top and along the trail.

Route Name: Don Cecil Trail to Lookout Peak

Route Description: 5 miles climb from Cedar Grove to the top of Lookout Peak. Hot and dry. The trail crosses Sheep Creek, past beautiful cascade of waterfalls, steadily climbing the north-facing (relatively cool) side of the kings canyon. Impressive view of Monarch Divide from the top. Return the same way.

Route Name: Zumwalt Meadow - Kings Canyon NP

Route Description: Short 1.5 miles loop. There are marked stops - you can self-purchase a guide for $1.50 at the trailhead. From the parking, cross the river toward mountains and follow the loop in counter-clockwise direction. Nearly level walk along the meadow. Great view of the North Dome. Beautiful wildflowers display in early summer. Lots of bugs.
