  • First Annual
  • Hike description: This will be a moderate to strenuous hike led by National Park Service staff.

This will be a moderate to strenuous hike. We will be exploring the swimming holes of the DST, between DeSoto State Park and Little River Canyon National Preserve. We should hit 3-4 swimming holes in total, and end the tour with a very special place indeed.
There will be approximately 2 hours of hiking and as much swimming as you can handle.

The purpose of this hike is to promote healthy activities and to get everybody acquainted with the swimming holes on the DeSoto Scout Trail.

    Admission is free.
Bring plenty of water and a sack lunch.
The terrain will be rocky, so wear sturdy footwear with good support.
If you want to bring sandals to play in the river, bring them in your bag.
You REALLY need boots to be safe on the rocky terrain.

Recommended items: hiking stick, sunscreen, camera, towel, swimming gear
